Octopus marks eighth birthday with yumbelievable free doughnut offer

• Octopus celebrates its 8th birthday by giving away FREE sweet treats from Greggs to customers signed up to ‘Octoplus’ rewards scheme
• Latest reward for Octopus’ scheme will run until the 12th May

London, 8th May 2024 - The UK’s largest electricity supplier, Octopus Energy, will celebrate its 8th birthday this week by giving away free sweet treats from Greggs to customers on its energy rewards scheme, ‘Octoplus’.

Customers on ‘Octoplus’ will be able to redeem a code until the 12th May that they can cash in for a range of doughnuts and muffins* from the UK’s leading bakery chain. There is a limited number of codes available, so customers will have to act fast to pick up their tasty snack.

The birthday treat is just the latest reward for customers signed up to ‘Octoplus’, following last month’s announcement of discounted meals at selected restaurants and free festival tickets - adding to discounted cinema tickets and days out at the National Trust.

Over 1.5 million Octopus customers have already joined the ‘Octoplus’ scheme, gaining redeemable ‘Octopoints’ simply by keeping a healthy energy account or reducing their energy usage during the company’s legendary ‘Saving Sessions’.

To be eligible for ‘Octoplus’, customers have to receive electricity from Octopus Energy, have an operational electric smart meter (i.e. receiving half hourly readings from it) and pay via Direct Debit. Business customers and smart prepayment customers can also join ‘Octoplus’.

Points can easily be redeemed in the ‘Octoplus’ section of the Octopus Energy app or dashboard where users can view available offers and check their ‘Octopoint’ balance. Customers can then use the provided code in-store or online to unlock the exclusive benefits.
